6-Position Technique Breakdown

Neutral

Standing position — tie-ups, underhooks, high-crotch, single-leg, double-leg, and chain wrestling from the feet.

Top

Top position — pinning combinations, breakdowns, cradles, half Nelson, and how to dominate from up.

Bottom

Bottom position — stand-up technique, sit-out, switch, shrimp, and escaping underhooks and pin attempts.

Front

Front head and armpit position — cross-face cradle, short offense from front headlock, and defending against it.

Back

Rear body lock, seatbelt grip, pin combinations from back, and breaking opponents down to the mat.

Scramble

Gauntlet and scramble situations — reaction drills, field position principles, and winning the loose ball.

How It's Organized

Each section covers one position with: (1) Core techniques and variations, (2) Set-up and entry patterns for each technique, (3) Coaching cues and common mistakes to avoid, (4) Live-drill prescriptions to build muscle memory. Use it as a reference to fill gaps in your game or as a curriculum guide for coaching.

Not sure what you'll get? Here's actual content from the guide:

Example: Front Head Lock — Short Offense Sequence

Step 1 — Secure the seatbelt: your near-side arm threads under their armpit and across their chest, fingers interlock at their sternum. Your other hand controls their wrist (far-side arm). This two-hand grip controls their entire upper body.

Step 2 — Establish the cross-face: drive your shoulder into the side of their neck, not their jaw. The cross-face opens their posture and prevents them from turning away or sitting back.

Step 3 — Walk them forward: with the seatbelt locked and cross-face applied, walk them forward toward their heels. Do not try to arc — drive straight. Their legs will fold as they lose balance.

Step 4 — Pin and finish: as their knees touch the mat, transition to a half Nelson or cross-face cradle. The walk-forward forces the scramble; the finish is a consequence of their reaction.

→ The guide covers all 6 positions with the same level of mechanical detail — grip sequences, coaching cues, common mistakes, and drill prescriptions for each.

Free YouTube vs. the Bible — what's actually different:

❌ YouTube gives you:

  • One-angle static camera
  • Tips that assume you already know the setups
  • Zero grip-sequence detail
  • No failure-mode analysis
  • No drill prescriptions

✓ The Bible gives you:

  • Multi-step grip sequences with body position
  • Set-up patterns for each technique
  • Common mistakes and why they fail under resistance
  • Drill prescriptions by week/progression
  • Printable — put it on your practice wall

What coaches are saying after their first season with the Bible

"I printed the pinning combinations section and put it on our practice wall. By February my guys were hitting half-Nelsons we'd never drilled before. The seatbelt-to-crad sequence alone was worth the price."

Coach R., high school wrestling program (verified buyer)

"Used the scramble section to build our last 6 weeks of practice before districts. My wrestlers stopped losing the gauntlet. Clear progressions, no fluff."

T. M., youth league head coach (verified buyer)
